Full Control Over Placement & Style

The tool offers 9 placement positions across a 3×3 grid — top-left through bottom-right. Numbers can be set in Times Roman, Helvetica, or Courier, with adjustable size (6–72pt), custom color, and configurable margin distance from the page edge. Use the live preview to see exactly how the numbering will appear before processing.

Custom Formats & Page Ranges

By default, every page gets a plain number starting from 1. You can change the starting number to skip a cover page, use a custom format like 'Page {n}' or '{n} / Total', and target specific page ranges (e.g., '3-10,15') to number only the pages that need it. If you want to skip page numbers on the first page entirely, set the starting range to begin from page 2.

When to Add Page Numbers

Page numbers are essential for any multi-page document that will be printed or shared — reports, contracts, theses, manuals, and eBooks. Without them, printed pages that get shuffled become impossible to reorder. If the PDF already has existing page numbers that need to be removed first, or if additional elements like a watermark are needed, those can be applied separately.
