How to Extract PDF Pages

1.

Upload PDF – Drop the source PDF file into the upload area.

2.

Choose Pages – Select odd pages, even pages, or pick specific pages from the visual page list.

3.

Download – Save the new PDF containing only the extracted pages.

Three Extraction Modes

The tool offers three ways to select which pages to pull out. Odd pages extracts pages 1, 3, 5, 7, etc. — useful for double-sided printing workflows where you need only one side. Even pages does the reverse. Specific pages opens a visual page browser where you click or drag-select exactly the pages you want. All three modes produce a single new PDF containing only the selected pages in their original order.

Extract vs. Split

Extracting pages creates one new document from your selection, leaving the original file unchanged. If you need to break a PDF into multiple separate files (e.g., each chapter as its own file), use the split PDF tool instead. If you need to combine extracted pages from different PDFs into one document, use merge PDF after extracting.

Page Quality & Structure

Extracted pages are exact copies of the originals — all text, images, fonts, annotations, and form fields are preserved without any re-encoding or quality loss. The output file contains only the pages you selected, so the file size is proportionally smaller than the source document.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between extracting and splitting a PDF?
Extracting pulls selected pages into a single new document. Splitting divides the entire PDF into multiple separate files. Use the split PDF tool if you need multiple output files.
Can I extract non-consecutive pages (e.g., pages 1, 5, and 12)?
Yes. Choose the 'Extract specific pages' option, then click or drag-select any combination of pages from the visual page browser. The pages do not need to be consecutive.
What does 'Extract Odd Pages' do?
It creates a new PDF containing only pages 1, 3, 5, 7, and so on from the original document. This is commonly used in double-sided printing workflows.
Does extracting pages affect the quality of the content?
No. Pages are copied exactly as they exist in the source PDF. Text, images, fonts, annotations, and form fields are preserved without re-encoding.
Can I extract pages from a password-protected PDF?
You must unlock the PDF first. Once the restrictions are removed, you can upload and extract pages normally.
Will the extracted pages maintain their original page order?
Yes. The output PDF preserves the page order from the source document. If you need to rearrange pages after extracting, use the organize PDF tool.
How large of a PDF can I extract pages from?
The tool accepts files up to 100 MB. Very large files with hundreds of pages may take slightly longer to render the page browser.
Can I merge extracted pages from different PDFs into one file?
Yes. Extract pages from each source PDF separately, then upload all the outputs to the merge PDF tool to combine them into a single document.
